wcmd, a wide character command line utility

  • Anonymous - 2011-02-02

wcmd is a small utility that reads a wide character command line from standard input or a file, then passes it to

, the wide character version of the

function. This makes it possible to pass wide character arguments to a program from an environment that only supports passing 8-bit character arguments.
Personally I use it to pass wide character arguments to AtomicParsley from Perl, to be able to use the full Unicode repertoire. A small snippet of example code is included in the README file.

wcmd can be found at http://matsp888.tripod.com.
