Cells 1.02 Released!

Cells 1.02 is in CVS and under file releases!

Enjoy.

Cells 1.01 on the way...

...it has been completed and is awaiting upload. This will feature basic functionality such as cell birth, mutation, 'collision detection' etc. This is the last stage before more complex genetic tinkering such as changing the size of genomes and chemical/enviromental influence.

This is where it gets interesting!!

As always, feedback appreciated.

Cells 1.01 in CVS

That's right, Cells version 1.01 - what 1.0 should have been, is in CVS.

This version is now a fully wxWindows-ised application and gives you an idea of what's going on.

Cells 1.0 Released

Yes, I compiled it, it works!
This one only spits out a text file but if you have the code, it's easy to change that to what you want.

Enjoy!

Cells v1 in CVS

Hello all,
the Cells Side-project has been almost implemented and is shaping up very well. Everything is working and all that's missing is a GUI frontend.

Expect a new package soon!!

ANNOUNCEMENT! Cells Side Project

Hello all. I'd like to announce a new side project in the CVS repository: 'Cells'. This is just a little something I knocked up over the weekend to investigate quorum sensing, something that I may use later on in the main project.

Still very simple, limited to generating simple trace statements in a text file. Still some teething troubles but shaping up nicely!

Release 0.2

Here it is in all its glory!
Basically just a refactored version of 0.1 but it's a lot tidier! Watch out, future releases are going to have better networks and everything!

More work in progress.

I've had a bit of think about how I'm doing things and after reading an interview of Bjarne Strousstouppfjgbg himself on http://Slashdot.org I've decided to through away "Object Oriented Coding For Dummies" style teachings and actually think about whether I need objects or not. An hours work last night has left things making a lot more sense and should lead to huge improvements in the code. I'm going to get some of my Uni course notes out and try to out together some sort of release plan.... read more

AsyncNN release 0.1 - at long last!!

Well, here it is. Only a month after it was first promised! This is a tar.gz of the new (relatively) ANN module in CVS. This is simply a little taster of what I'm thinking about. Being 0.1, it is very immature software and I have plans to make big changes to the node based classes so they make more sense and hopefully will cause fewer problems.

Enjoy :-)

Back from holiday

Hi all, I'm back from 2 weeks away. I didn't even SEE a computer during that time so no work done.
I didn't get a release out before I went mostly because I was busy doing "Full Time Job" stuff and didn't get time. Hopefully soon though!! ;)

First Release Coming

Hello there, AsyncNN is progressing and I should have a release for all of the many, many interested people out there.

It should come early next week and feature a very simple asynchronous network that doesn't do much but provides an idea of what this project is about.

This week in AsyncNN land

We have a neural network!!!

Partly anyway, it sets up correctly and I have implemented some firing in the neurons (including updating weights). If things carry on at this pace, I'll have the NN working in about 2 weeks and be ready to start work on the framework - the application/carousel software.

Fear not: first import is done!

Just to let whoever might be looking at this project know, that despite what the statistics say, there has been an initial import and work is in progress!

This project has officially started. Woohoo!!
