Hey Leif.. Just throwing some random ideas up in the air as they come to me: > Do you have any SIP devices? (yes/no) > + SIP phone > + Softphone Is there a distinction? It's getting late and my mind's on worky stuff, I'm just taking a break to catch up with email and stuff, so excuse me if I'm being dumb.. I guess there's things like the "canreinvite=no" which only affects certain setups etc? > Extension Ranges > + Start and Stop range Perhaps with the option to define multiple ranges? I might want 2xx for phones on the second floor, 3xx for third floor phones etc, but only having 15 phones per floor > + Would like you to enable voicemail on any of > these extensions? (yes/no) Sounds good.. not sure about specifying which extensions if not all though.. tick boxes? in pages? or some kind of range entry? > + What should the default voicemail password be? Should we set a default? Or randomly assign one? One thing I'd like to see in the voicemail app is some kind of hand holding, walk-through-the-steps setup of your mailbox - recording name, greeting etc. Has anyone else on the list set up their voicemail box with FWD? I got an email about it the other day and set mine up (dial 86 from your FWD phone). That's something more for the TUI side of things than your wizard, I'm just thinking outloud, but it kinda ties in with passwords - I got assigned a random one by FWD then had to change it the first time I logged in One thing I'm still not 100% clear on (and I think I've asked before, but again it's late and I'm starting to get woozy!) Are you looking at storing all of the config and setup in some kind of database, then generate text config files when stuff changes? Like with web hosting, I use a product called Plesk (www.plesk.com) that does that. I set up a new virtual host/domain and it creates a new httpd.conf for Apache and makes it reload. Might be nice for a complete backup/restore of all config details etc? Just my $0.02 Cheers Paul :-) |
