I've just had a look at ADOdb. Sounds like it would be
perfect for a large application that wanted to be able to
access just about ANY database.
Unfortunately, I think it's a little TOO big for our
little CDR module. I mean, I really only use 3 lines of
database specific code, so it doesn't really seem worth
the effort.
I think creating our own abstraction layer is the way to
go. How many people actually use PostgreSQL at the
moment, by the way?
Also, ADOdb doesn't support CSV files so I'd have to write
an adstraction for that anywayz. I can't see any of this
being too difficult, and ADOdb looks like a pain to setup
for something as small as AstWeb.
If Asterisk starts to support more databases we'll have a
look at it again then.
