Welcome to the AstroCTC wiki!
AstroCTC (Astronomical CCD in Telescope Capture) is primarily designed to view and capture video and images of the Planets and the Moon using a camera and a telescope. A suitable astronomical CCD camera or modified web-cam will give the best results, however it will work with most web-cams.
AstroCTC is free software licenced under the terms of the GNU General Public License. It is intended for use with Linux only, but could be used in other environments with modifications.
While AstroCTC is primarily designed for astronomical use, it can also serve as a general web-cam program.
AstroCTC has a number features for easy capture. You can save and maintain preset profiles for different cameras, objects and conditions. All controls and settings available for the camera are shown and night vision is an option. Video capture can limited by time, number of frames or unlimited. Snapshots can be in multiples and there is also a block delay option for time-lapse imaging.
There are numerous video and image formats to choose from, however FITS support is fairly basic at present and should only be used by those familiar with it.

AstroCTC is beta software and as such will probably have some bugs. The README file has instructions on how to get started and general project notes.
AstroCTC is written in c. The GUI is created using GTK+ 3.0, video capture is handled using GStreamer 1.0 and snapshot capture is handled by Video4Linux2.
