The element outliner woks like a charm on Ubuntu 9.10 now, and its really useful!
BibTex import work well, tested it by exporting my library from Zotero and importing with the source manager. When the option to italize and underline parts of the references gets implemented, this part of AST will be one kick-ass reference manager!
