I would strongly suggest copying the rc.conf file from /stat/etc/ and using that as a template instead of reusing an older one. There were several variable changes and additions. Nedi, perhaps the ntp server you selected (ntpserv.hs-magdeburg.de) is restricted in some way. The pool.ntp.org time servers do have some regional servers.
