I had a chance to play around with the Geode GX (and both other models, one of which is still sitting on my window sill), and while I commend AMD on putting together one heck of a demo box, the CPU itself just couldn't handle very much transcoding or echo cancellation. Simply terminating Zap calls into Echo() with zapata.conf's echocancel=yes would grind the system to a halt starting at exactly call number 8. It may be a good little desktop system, but it's strengths are definitely not in realtime processing. Admittedly, when AMD marketed the Geode to embedded applications, they emphasized the flexibility of a PC architecture, not the power - it's meant to be a low power, fan-less processor. Just my $.02.
