When compiling zaptel you can pass NO_HOTPLUG (something like that) and it will compile the current firmware into the module. What everyone is talking about here is firmware required for the card, like for Intel wireless cards. I looked into this a while back but I never got very far... Hotlpug is just a bunch of scripts. It shouldn't be that hard to build into AstLinux. The only reason why it isn't in right now is because I don't trust it %100. I think it tries to be smarter than it really is and I have seen it cause problems on many systems. Running hotplug on my laptop I don't mind. But on a headless, mission critical PBX (for instance), it makes me nervous... -- Kristian Kielhofner |
