Hello everyone, I just merged the rt branch into trunk. This is a pretty serious update even IF you are building with RT disabled- - new version of madwifi - new version of zaptel - new kernel (2.6.20) - unionfs patches - squashfs patches Of course there is the new option - RT PREEMPT support. Under "AstLinux device", each device has a sub-option to enable RT PREEMPT. All of the appropriate makefiles for the device, kernel, and packages will take this into account and apply the necessary steps (mostly just patches) to enable RT PREEMPT. There are known problems with mISDN, but Ingmar and I will be working on that. You will also want to build with schedutils so that you can actually change the priorities of the interrupts in the kernel. That's what RT PREEMPT is all about! :) Kernel changes... AstLinux finally has it's own EXTRAVERSION on the kernel (-astlinux). Now modules are here: 2.6.20-astlinux or 2.6.20-rt5-astlinux instead of just 2.6.20 Keep an eye out for this one - some out of tree kernel modules may need to be updated to make sure that they get installed to the right path. -- Kristian Kielhofner |
