Hi Kevin, you can use iaxmodem to talk to a fax application. The best choice here is to use Hylafax on a remote system. This combo allows you to send/receive faxes via Zaptel, mISDN, etc. eFax should work too. Maybe some configuration tweaks are necessary. Darrick probably has a look. I'll check too if time allows. In an rather experimental state I have running spandsp with app_?xfax over mISDN. I managed to send/receive faxes. However, for sending faxes, a nice interface is missing. That's just a proof of concept at this moment. However, I had some issues with newer spandsp versions to get cross-compiled. I talked to Steve Underwood and he could fix one issue and the other one I noticed, I have to re-test. That's the status. Fax over SIP... did you test this - not with Astlinux but on a standalone system? Heard reliability is an issue. I can't comment on this because I haven't tried it. cheers, Ingmar quoting Kevin Kiely > Darrick, > > Do you know if the fax related packages that Ingmar is adding will support > faxing over a SIP connection like NVFAXDETECT? > > Thanks, > > Kevin > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Darrick Hartman [mailto:dha...@dj...] > Sent: Tuesday, February 20, 2007 5:08 PM > To: AstLinux Users Mailing List > Subject: [Astlinux-users] AstLinux next release > > In preparing for the 0.4.5 release of Astlinux, there have been several > things happening in the background.
