Smarter people on this list may have other/better hints. - some CF readers aren't bootable, you are sure, yours is? - is your system booting from /dev/hda or from /dev/sda? Do you get the message '/dev/sda1 is not bootable' from your system? Quoting Olivier: "I did then install the environment on an asus pundit (amd opteron)".
