To reduce spam guessing, my mail domains reject all mail not exactly  
addressed to known users.  The sourceforge lists require a posting  
email to have a 'postmaster' user in the same domain (or sub-domain)  
as the sender.  (There are RFC's that say a 'postmaster' user should  
be defined, but I have never quite understood why.)

After defining a 'postmaster' user in my mail system, I was able to  
post to this new list

I am just curious the logic of requiring the 'postmaster' and not  
creating a spam email channel.
