Hi Graham I run Alix boards with 256Mb RAM and I have to turn off as much as I can using 1.2.10. 512Mb should be fine though. I recommend the APU for any new boxes. IMPORTANT NOTICE: AstLinux 1.2.10 was the last supported version for "net5501" and "alix" board types. A custom build can still be used to generate 'run' images for "net5501" and "alix" board types. Michael I will add that the PC Engines APU2 "apu2c2" http://pcengines.ch/apu2c2.htm *should* be a good choice later this year after the BIOS is feature complete. Same price as the APU1 but with Intel i211AT NIC's. We have not tested it yet. Another good choice is the Jetway NF9HG-2930 mini-itx board http://doc.astlinux.org/userdoc:board_jetway_nf9hg-2930 Currently that board seems hard to find, but I'm sure Jetway is making more. Of course you would have to add a case, memory and SSD.
