Hi devs

Sorry for my ignorance but I would like to know how the Asterisk SIP Monitor works.
Is it possible to add monitored trunks without having to reboot?
How hard would it be to write a script that looked at all the SIP Trunks configured and added them to the SIP monitor?
Should I just use Monit?
