Hello everyone, I'm disappointed we haven't done a release in so long. We've been working to develop the interactions between Runnix and AstLinux but have not yet figured out the best way to install Runnix+AstLinux based systems. We've been working on a script to do just that. The idea is simple. Boot from the AstLinux Live CD and install AstLinux to disk from the console. I've built a CD image with this enabled and I would like for some of you to test it, if possible. Standard warnings apply: We haven't been able to test this on much hardware. Make sure you are prepared to lose ALL of the data on your machine before even running this script. We're pretty sure it will work perfectly but just in case... Anyways here's the ISO with the install script: http://astbuild.star2star.com/astlinux-trunk-1820.iso After booting simply log in as root and run: astinstall Remember to eject the CD before the machine boots back up. It should boot Runnix+AstLinux. Let me know if you have any suggestions, problems, etc. If everything goes well you can expect to see and AstLinux release shortly. Thanks! P.S. - Sorry for the cross post but I wanted to get as many eyes on this as possible. -- Kristian Kielhofner http://blog.krisk.org |
