[Astlinux-users] NTPSERV Time sync not working

Hi all

I edited my rc.conf and put 

## Misc #
NTPSERV="ntpserv.hs-magdeburg.de"

my astlinux don't sync the time with the server

what can i do ??

I have astlinux 0.4.5

and i need the time for switzerland

I think there is a requirement that the NTP server be declared as an IP
address ... I seem to recall I ran into this one a long ago and that solved
the problem for me ... Should be quick/easy to try ... If it works, you are
done ... If not, maybe someone else has a better solution for you ...

This has changed from prior releases.  You can specify one (or more) ntp 
servers in rc.conf.  I would strongly suggest copying the rc.conf file 
from /stat/etc/ and using that as a template instead of reusing an older 
one.  There were several variable changes and additions.

Nedi, perhaps the ntp server you selected (ntpserv.hs-magdeburg.de) is 
restricted in some way.  The pool.ntp.org time servers do have some 
regional servers.  I'd suggest going to their website ( 
http://www.pool.ntp.org )and using one of those servers.
