Kristian, I am curious if there are any major challenges merging asterisk 1.4 into AstLinux? Just some small hurdles or are there mountains to climb? Thanks, Lonnie PS: Interesting lists.sourceforge.net requires me to have a postmaster address. Do most people here simply auto-delete all postmaster mail? This seems very attractive to spammers. |

I started work on it, but stalled because most important things came up and it wasn't even released yet :). I'll get back to work on it now that there is an actual release. As far as the lists.sf.net question, I'm afraid that I don't quite understand what you mean... -- Kristian Kielhofner |

To reduce spam guessing, my mail domains reject all mail not exactly addressed to known users. The sourceforge lists require a posting email to have a 'postmaster' user in the same domain (or sub-domain) as the sender. (There are RFC's that say a 'postmaster' user should be defined, but I have never quite understood why.) After defining a 'postmaster' user in my mail system, I was able to post to this new list I am just curious the logic of requiring the 'postmaster' and not creating a spam email channel. Generally the postmaster account is an alias to an actual user. Other strongly suggested aliases are webmaster and abuse. Darrick -- Darrick Hartman DJH Solutions, LLC http://www.djhsolutions.com |

Yes, I recently removed all my 'webmaster' mail user aliases because they were a conduit for spam. I can deal with this 'postmaster' requirement for this list. I just think it creates more problems than it solves. Lonnie |
