Thanks Lonnie. I did expect this to be the case but had to ask. And yes we are realising that we will need to look at rolling our own in the future although the stability of Astlinux is a significant drawcard.
Thanks David and yes we have also looked at this but if we are going to the effort of building a management environment in Debian we may as well rebuild the whole thing.

Another solution may be to fire up a LXC container and put in that all you need.  Pick Debian or Ubuntu as base and then whatever web server and PHP you like.  I have found LXC to be a very effective way of getting richer features on Astlinux.

Not only does this keep the image small, but vulnerabilities in code we don't enable won't hurt us.

As such, we are not inclined to enable "UTF-8" and "Unicode properties" support in libpcre.

Possibly you have outgrown AstLinux and need a more complete development platform, like Debian.

Or, develop using custom crafted PHP code supporting the minimal PHP AstLinux provides.

Hi Michael,

we've only tested a few of the functions that are possible with Prosody (and that was at least 10 years ago :-) ).

There are also 2 CLI applications to manage Prosody: "prosodyctl" + "prosodycmd"

We (AstLinux) always build with BR2_JLEVEL=1 in the .config, so we have not seen your intermittently failing issue.

In AstLinux those dependencies are satisfied when ex-vi is built, so it has always worked.

normally you can setup the vCard informations in the XMPP client. As an expample I use Adium for Mac.

We have most of it working however I cant for the life of me work out how to configure vCards with Prosody.

Quick look, many CFLAGS (passed as FEATURES="...") are missing from your build.  Also note the "-I./libuxre -DUXRE" in the gcc's above.

The best solution is to mount sysfs earlier.  I added this commit [1]

Hi Lonnie,

I observed a weird issue with loading the ASTURW and ASTKD partitions post an upgrade in a custom version built with a newer version of util-linux (2.37.4). It looks like the check of the partitions has to be done post mounting the sysfs. Not sure much of the background but it was working after i moved the below lines in /etc/rc in astlinux just before the line 211 so the partitions are detected.
  set_asturw
  set_kddev
