[Asterisk-java-users] Speech Recognition

Has anyone tried using any open source Speech Recognition packages with
Asterisk Java?  

I am currently exploring Sphinx ( http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net ) and
see some examples of how to get use Perl AGI to embed Sphinx inside of
Asterisk.  I'm wondering if there are any good Java tutorials out there
on how to do this.  It does not have to be Sphinx, that is just the only
open source solution that I have found. 

I have looked at LumenVox, and it does exactly what we need very nicely.
However at this point I cannot convince the people that control the
budget that it is worth the money.
