Hi Mark,
 
This is possible but files are not exposed to the Manager interface, so
"saving the recorded files in Asterisk to another computer" is not
something the Asterisk-Java library by itself could do. You would
probably just need to write a program to copy the files yourself with
SSH or Samba or something.

     I just want to ask if it is possible to save the recorded files in

Hi List:

~   I'm having a problem with the channel variable at Agi Script, here 
are how is the situtation and the problem:

~       I have an AGI SCRIPT that answer the call, and call another 
function wich recive as paramter the AgiChannel, this function (in a new 
object) plays some audio files and read some tones from the user.

~       When the function ends, it returns and plays one more audio 
file.  Here is the problem only in the last call reproduce that audio 
file. All. the rest calls stay in silence and get disconnect when the 
last call hangups.

~      If i print the channel uniqueID before going to the function and 
when the function ends, it get modified to the uniqueID of the last call.

~    I don't know if any one can help me with this.

~     I'm using Asterisk 1.4.13, Asterisk-Java 0.31 (also test with 
1.0.0) and Java SUN 1.6 and IBM 1.5

set a channel variable. See

If you only need to originate a call I would recommend that you either 
implement the bits of the Manager API you need in ASP.net or that you look 
into the outgoing call spool file thingy that Asterisk can do. Running some 
Java application server for the simple task of originating a call is bloat^2.

Hi Preetha,

so you can use the package manager from your linux distribution to 
install a tomcat on your machine. If you are using e.g. debian, use:

$> apt-get install tomcat

I don't now if there is a way to run asp.net in a tomcat container, but 
you can use tomcat only for originate. So create a Webapp in your 
preffered Java IDE (Eclipse), put the asterisk java lib into the lib-Dir 
for tomcat webapps. Create a Servlet with a .doGet() Method, so you can 
extract the extension parameter from URL with

...
request.getAttribute("extension");
...

and you can use your Asterisk-Java code. The URL is 
http://localhost:8080/Servlet?extension=183

Hope this helps, let me know if you have problems or other questions.

I am using Asteriskjava's managerAPI program(HelloManager.java) to originate
a call to an extension.But as it is a stanalone application,I can able to
run the program in console only.Then the call gets originated to the
extension i have specified.But my requirement is ,If i click a number in a
web based application which is developed in asp.net,that number should be
passed to the HelloManager.java program and that number should be
originated.I cannot do this since HelloManager.java is standalone.How could
i run the java program  in a browser? please let me know in brief where
should i download tomcat in my linux and how to run this?

This question is more suited for the -users list.

You can't use the ! command through the Manager API. It only works on
the command line (using the shell you are running asterisk -r from).
There are a few other solutions, all with their own downsides:
- Originate a fake call to the System() application (clutters your CDR,
is really a hack)
- Use an SSH Java library to execute your commands
- Run a small http server/servlet container on your Asterisk boxes that
expose the services you need through HTTP and execute the commands locally.

Maybe an alternative is to use the class name of your agi script in the
dialplan. example:

Agi(agi://localhost/com.example.scripts.MyAgiScript)

Then you don't even need the properties file.

There are a few MappingStrategies in the org.asteriskjava.fastagi
package. Just download the source (or check it out from svn) and use one
of the existing strategies as a starting point.
