Hi, Excuse for writing french. I do want to make runtime management of Asterisk and get state information from Asterisk but from an external application; is it possible? I would also like to know if I can launch extensions of asterisk dialplan from my application. I will use JBuilder for the graphic application adding the package asterisk-java. Are tehre possibilities to make music_onhold with asterisk-java? Thanks. --------------------------------- Appel audio GRATUIT partout dans le monde avec le nouveau Yahoo! Hi, first the language on the Asterisk-Java lists is usually english and my knowledge of french is rather limited :) second please use the asterisk-java-user mailing list for questions about usage of Asterisk-Java. The asterisk-java-devel is for development of Asterisk-Java. As far as I understood your questions you are looking for a way to handle Asterisk configuration from your application. That is generally not a use case for Asterisk-Java. Asterisk-Java supports runtime management of Asterisk like originating calls and redirecting calls and getting state information from Asterisk like what are the current active channels, what agents are logged in to which queues, etc. Via FastAGI Asterisk-Java also supports IVR like applications with voice prompts and menus. If you intend to do configuration via an external application look at Asterisk realtime and write a frontend application that manages the realtime database. =3DStefan |

Hi Dominique, > However, in day to day usage, I've found some annoying > details : > - No constructors in Actions, this makes it tedious and error prone to > construct new actions. Feel free to submit patches for additional "convenience" contructors. > - No real toString methods on events (makes it difficult when writting > logs). Yes, I think there is even a note in the sources about that. We must provide some generic toString method based on reflection in ManagerEvent to follow the design of Asterisk-Java. Do you want to provide a patch for that, too? > - No argument checking on actions, some values for actions are illegal > and could be checked for nullity or incorrectness. Here i am not completely sure what to do. Genereally I think it is not a good idea to duplicate error checking logic that belongs to Asterisk itself. So if you send a bogous Action to Asterisk it should return an error. Otherwise we might run into a maintainance nightmare due to ongoing changes in Asterisk. > Those are just some suggestion that would make writing code easier for > me. Others might find them useless. If their is interest in those > changes, I'm willing to provide patches. See my notes above. I always welcome patches :) Just post them here and we can discuss them in detail. > Anyway, this library is great work. Thanks again to those who > contributed to it. Thanks for using it :) Cheers, Stefan |

Hello, I'm using Asterisk-Java with success for about 2 month now. Everything works fine, it's great work with good design that makes it easy to use and comprehend. However, in day to day usage, I've found some annoying details : - No constructors in Actions, this makes it tedious and error prone to construct new actions. Ideally I would like to have a pair of constructors that take into account the main usage patterns. - No real toString methods on events (makes it difficult when writting logs). - No argument checking on actions, some values for actions are illegal and could be checked for nullity or incorrectness. Those are just some suggestion that would make writing code easier for me. Others might find them useless. If their is interest in those changes, I'm willing to provide patches. Anyway, this library is great work. Thanks again to those who contributed to it. Regards, Dom -- |

> It would be really great if there was a method =20 > ManagerConnection#isConnected() to check the connection state of the =20 > current manager connection object. ok - it was already there as a private method in the DefaultManagerConnection, so I added it to the interface. =3DStefan |

Hi, It would be really great if there was a method ManagerConnection#isConnected() to check the connection state of the current manager connection object. thanks, Andrew |

So this is solved ... using 1.0.7 should be fine, too. regarding the regexp: agi_network_script does not contain the leading agi://host/ so the regexp doesn't have to strip it. =Stefan |

Hi there again :) Tobias Wolf schrieb: > > The main question is now, if my Asterisk Version is too old, and the key > has changed from agi_request to agi_network_script. Just got the change to test it with an Asterisk CVS-v1-0-02/26/05 and volia, there was an key agi_network_script. So this is solved ... Well, i think i have to upgrade :)) See ya, Tobias |

Hi there, today i started to play around with Asterisk-java. I have downloaded Version 0.1 from sourceforge.net and began to follow the Tutorial. I am running Asterisk 1.0.1. One i dialed in the Asterisk Server, it connects to the succesfully to the AGIServer, but wasn't able to map the name of the agi-script to the Java Class. I did some investigation in the source files and here are my results: - From my Asterisk following line is sent: agi_request: agi://10.3.4.12:1234/hello.agi - In net.sf.asterisk.fastagi.AGIRequest.getScript() only network_script is parsed -> changed this to request - The RegExp was ^([^\\?]*)\\?(.*)$ I must admit i didn't really understood this and played a little bit to make it match the script name -> agi://.*/(.*)$ Alright, i am assuming that agi:// will always be part of the url and so far it brakes the there are parameters present. I hope i am not forgetting something but i think that were all changes that made Asterisk-java work for me. The main question is now, if my Asterisk Version is too old, and the key has changed from agi_request to agi_network_script. Maybe someone can explain the original RegExp for me (if in fact this really matches the URL as proposed in the turorial). Hope to hear from anyone soon ;-) Best Wishes ... Tobias |

Hi Derrick, thanks for your patch. It's now included in the latest CVS version. > A small change to the manager api interface for commands which would > help solve this is adding a results header like the results footer. > For instance: > > Response: Follows > Privilege: Command > ActionID: 1234... > --BEGIN COMMAND-- > ... > --END COMMAND-- would you mind to submit a patch to asterisk (http://bugs.digium.com/) to fix this? I think its a good idea and would allow for a more generic handling of the command action. =Stefan |
