I'd like to start by thanking you for developing this versatile, powerful - yet easy to use - piece of software.
I do, however, have one issue with the program in that I run a multi-screen set up for my main processing computer (Windows-based) and, because of its power, I quite often access the computer remotely using RDP. Occasionally, if I have left ASTAP running on the computer, its window will not display when I RDP to the computer and I have to stop ASTAP, manually edit astap.cfg to reset the window coordinates and restart ASTAP so I can use ASTAP remotely.
As an enhancement would it be possible for ASTAP to check the display resolution limits and to adjust itself so that it is always visible?
Thanks for your consideration.

a possible work around
Good chance if you set your remote/host PC's display resolution (at least before an RDP session) to be the same as (or less than) the RDP viewer -( at least for when you know you will be accessing via RDP) and then start ASTAP the screens and positioning should match ... of course this may be inconvenient if you prefer/need (the remote/host PC's) to be at a higher resolution, then you would need to switch it back.. I
f you can set your RDP viewer to have higher resolution than the remote/host PC's display resolution, then RDP should open in a "window " . I haven't used RDP in years and possibly now they may offer "dynamic window size" i.e. de-magnifier so you can completely see the higher resolution screen of the remote/host PC's display BUT then the mouse accuracy may not be as precise..)
Good luck,
Craig

I think I missed the old post from Martin. Sorry for that.
Anyhow I have added a check if the main form and stack form are visible in the active monitor(s) and move the windows if they are outside the monitor area. This should fix the problem.
Implemented in the ASTAP development version 2024-05-12:
Thanks, Han. I'll give that a whirl and see how it behaves.
Craig - Thanks for the suggestion. I've not tried it, but it should work, if:
* your RDP viewer supports a large screen size (or better still, covers multi-monitors)
* you can remember the orientation of the screens so you can create a large enough virtual desktop.

Hi Martin and Craig,

If this is not working, please tell me.

In the version of today ASTAP window is moved fully into one of the active monitors. Not the 100 pixels as the previous version:
