Something that would be nice for comets - and other extended objects - is to provide a line profile. Draw a line though an object and produce a simple graph showing how the pixel values vary across the line. Might be able to show any variations in the nucleus and coma.

There is something in Pixelmath 2 which is not the same as your idea but similar. It can draw the contour. I only have no purpose for it. See screenshot.

Thanks. I'll have a look into that - but not quite what I was after. Having a contour profile of a comet is useful though.
