I am running into a problem since upgrading to the newer version of ASTAP using the new star database files.
Specifically, I downloaded and installed ASTAP for Mac OS version 2023.04.09 and downloaded and installed the d20_star_database.pkg, which put the d20 star database files in /usr/local/opt/astap . When I attempt to solve an image with "Star database used" set to "auto" or "D20, " I get the error "No star database found at /usr/local/opt/astap/!" When I set "Star database used" to "H18," I get "No solution found! :(" (which wasn't an uncommon response in earlier versions of the program). The differences between the old h18 and new d20 datafiles were the groups (staff vs wheel), owners (root vs cwmauche), and permissions (-rw-r--r-- vs -rw-rw-r--@). I've tried changing the owner and permissions of the d20 files to be the same as those of the h20 files, although I don't know what to do with the "@" in the permission; I haven't tried changing the group since I don't know how to do that and saw somewhere where it said to leave that alone. For example, "ls -alFt" returns
-rw-rw-r-- 1 cwmauche wheel 285760 Mar 18 05:20 d20_1101.1476
-rw-rw-r--@ 1 cwmauche staff 304615 Jan 2 2021. h18_0101.1476
These changes haven't changed the error. I've also tried deleting and reinstalling the program and the star database files.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem?
Thanks, Chris

macbookpro@MacBook-Pro-van-Apple astap % ls -l d50_0101
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 521600 Mar 18 12:20 d50_0101.1476
The x is an old wrong in the h18 but that should not effect the working. This @ stands for extended attributes and I don't understand how that was created. The option auto works here with version ASTAP 2023-04-09.
1) Which MacOS version are you using and which processor is inside?
2) Can you delete or rename the /usr/local/opt/astap directory and start new. I will provide the h18 again as .pkg installer and see if that somehow helps.

Hi Chris,
This is a new problem. I get this here:
