Dear Han,
I tried to extract the green channel fromRGB images stacked in Siril and Fitswork via
-> Pixel Math2 -> Button „split in separate R, G, B files“
but received the message " „not a three colour image“
It was no problem to load and show these images (size 4000x6000) in ASTAP.
I tried to attach the image but it was too large for the file transfer.
I cropped it in ASTAP, tried the colour separation again, and it worked.
What is the problem?

Hi Han,
next time I tried the colour separation it worked. I closed ASTAP, restarted the program, loaded the file lights tab, double clicked it and opened the pixel math2 tab.
I also tried to load the file directly (file-> load FITS or other format) after a restart and colour separation worked also.
I have the impression ASTAP tends to hang after some operations if the file is too large.
All the best
Joerg

I looked to your image and to the code. I can't find a reason why this would happen. If it happens again look if you can recreate the effect multiple times using the same steps prior to the incident. Then I can search better for a possible cause.

i Joerg,
I have no idea at this moment. Can you upload the original image to e.g. :
https://nova.astrometry.net/
or
https://ufile.io/
and share the link? Then I can have a look.
Han
Hi Han,
I prefer Hidrive for this, although the link is only valid for 7 days.
But this is rather an advatage.
