Hi,
processing Nikon D5100 NEF images I tried to test different Bayer schemes but the 'Test pattern' button is always inactive. Am I doing something wrong or what might be the cause?
Thanks
Axel

You have to load a raw image. Then you can press "test pattern". Once the image is colour you have to press "undo". Then you can press again while selecting first an other pattern. See attached.
Han,
sorry, had no time to immediately follow up on your response. I guess my mistake was to follow the video which shows photometry on FITS files.
But in general: when working with DSLR images I load all the necessary lights, darks etc., stack them and then extract the green channel via the context menu into the photometry tab.
Is this the correct sequence?

When you stack them you will smear the red, green and blue channels. You can only calibrate them. Do all from the popup menu in the photmetry tab.
1)Load the lights in the photometry tab. The Dark, flats and so in the other dedicated tabs.
2) Use the popup menu to calibrate the images with "calibrate selected files" (using dark, flats, dark-flats in the other tabs).
3) Extract he green channel.
4) Select the variable in the first light and press the > button to measure.
Ask any other question.
Cheers, Han

Hi Han,
I followed your above roadmap and loaded NEF images in the photometry tab, added a masterflat in the Flats tab and started via the "calibrate selected files" option in the context menu. I receive an error - not sure what went wrong. Can you have a look please?
Han,
I checked everything again and noticed that I have mixed raw lights with a fits masterflat. Might this be an issue?
I tried using only raw files (lights in the photometry tab, flats and flatdarks in their respective tabs) and the program terminated with an error after creating the masterdark (see attachment). The program still seems to run so I checked 'power down after completion' and will wait till tomorrow morning to see if anything else happened.
If you agree I'll send you a set of all three file types to reproduce the issue.
If by applying the wrong files a negative value occurs the program will likely have a runtime error. I do not check for that because cheking will slow down the program.
I you can not fix it send a sample set.

Auto should work in almost all cases.

I checked it here briefly, but I can not reproduce the error here. Can you share the master flat and a few images to reproduce the error?
Will send you the files but may take some time
