I have attached a screenshot of my attempt to measure a single star.
I opened Tools, Image Inspection(F5) and then clicked on HFD.
The hourglass appeared and went away. No measurement is seen at the bottom of the window as in your example photo.
Most likely the star is too big or super saturated. You should try to stay under HFD 10. So the dimater is mabe 13 pixels. First thing to do is t exposuse shorter and focus best manually.

Due to poor weather, I am trying to fine tune my focusing with a single artificial star.
I am using the Focus Craft Tool in Astrophotography Tool(APT).
In the Settings, I have selected use ASTAP with the Star detection SNR set to 10.
Can I get good readings in ASTAP using a single star?
Thanks
Jack

Yes a single star should work. See attached.
