As a variable star observer I am mainly interested in the photometry features. The use of a star data base offers a lot of exciting possibilities - thank you for such a nice tool.
I initially installed the V50 catalog on a different hard drive. When I realized that software and catalog had to be installed in the same directory I moved the catalog data to the required \astap subdirectory in the installation folder. With the 'Star data base used' field offering only 'auto' I received the "No star database found" error when trying to solve an image. I deleted the \astap subdirectory and using the same installer tried to install the data base a second time. The installer however now allows only an installation on the hard drive I choose initially!
What am I doing wrong? Any idea how to correct the problem?

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
The database and the astap.exe should be in the same directory. Where doesn't matter. Check the astap installation path by the menu Help. About Astap. See attached screenshot. Move all V50 files to that directory. So for the screenshot. c:\program files\astap
You can also move all to d:\astap or any otherr directory.
Han,
thanks for your quick response. I now understand my mistake - I had the catalog data in a \astap subdirectory, so C:\Program Files\astap\astap. I did not expect to have all those catalog files directly in the installation directory and expected a separate subdirectory for catalogs. Now solving runs as expected.
Thanks a lot for your marvelous piece of software! I guess it will change my way of image processing a lot.
