I recently updateed my machine to a new Mac Mini, and I am trying to reinstall ASTAP, I have got the program running ok, however I can not solve images even though I have the H18 database downloaded and used the installer as well. I do have the database on a seperate external drive from the main program. I also had the same problem when they were both on the same drive and even in the same folder. I also went through the solving checklist and I don not see my star database there it only says "Auto" in the drop down any suggestions would be helpful, thank you
The same folder as application only works for Windows and Linux. Can you try that. In principle the database installer should do that for you automatically.
Cheers, Han

Good afteernoon,

Hello Zachary,
For the Mac the database should be located in:
/usr/local/opt/astap
The same folder as application only works for Windows and Linux. Can you try that. In principle the database installer should do that for you automatically.

yes, that is the location of the star database.
The message in your screenshot is already indicating that. Having them on a separate drive will probably not work,
What if you type in a command box something like this:
ls /usr/local/opt/astap
I will try that when i get home. Just to throw this out there, I also had the main program and database on the same drive, and had the same issue.
Is the permission of the files set correctly? Or maybe the first files is missing which is used for detecting:
h18_0101.1476
I don't have much time the next days, but you could try to delete the /usr/local/opt/astap directory and ASTAP and start clean with installing.

Got it working.... for some reason it didnt like being installed on an external drive.
Thank you for your help
