    Hi Han

    I have ASTAP running under Manjaro Linux on a dual boot machine, under both Windows and Linux. With your prompting I now have ASTAP arunning under both OS's.

    Under Linux I have the H18 database installed via KStars at :

    $ /home/richardh/.local/share/kstars/astrometry/

    which is used 'live' for PA via StallarSolver.

    Since KStars already has a 30Gb Star db for StellarSolver, it seems to make sense to have the linux ASTAP use the linux KStars db rather than duplicate it again for ASTAP.

    Then I can live solve in KStars, solve and stack in ASTAP, all from one db.

    (I have seen the instructions about the -d option under the CLI solver but want to do this in the main program, and I can't see anything under Tools>Batch Processing or under Settings).

    Can this be done?

    Tks

    Hello Richard,

    The databases of Kstar stellar solver is not compatible with ASTAP. Yo have to use the ASTAP database H18. It has to be:

    1) in the same directory of ASTAP. Typicaly in /opt/astap
    or
    2) In case the executable is manually placed at /usr/..., then the program will look for the database at /usr/share/astap/data/ (version 0.9.412b or higher)
    3) Or you have to use the -d option (which is new)

    So the -d has to configured in Ekos but I'm not sure if there is any option to enter an extra parameter.

    For stacking is the database not required.

    Simplest is to go for option 1). The H18 is only one gbyte.

    Regards, Han
