I'm running Windows 11 64 bit on a Mele2 small computer. When I launch ASTAP it just shoots down to the taskbar and never opens. I've tried the usual trick of "restore" and "maximize" but those options don't even appear. I think it's trying to open up at a screen resolution greater than the 1920x1080 that I have. This happens for here at the observatory and also at home -- both using windows remote deskop. Any ideas about how to fix this?

I would suggest to clear the ASTAP configuration file astap.cfg. You can find it here:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\astap
Just enter this path in the File Explorer or in a CDM window, You could either delete the astap.cfg file or remove it and attach it to a post here. Then I can have a look why it is doing so and try to prevent it in next ASTAP version.

I used an extra screen with the laptop and exited the program in this second screen. Next time I used only the laptop screen, and noticed the same problem as Ross, with the Astap window apparently not opening. I plugged in the second screen again and it showed up there. Could probably have deleted the cfg file instead. I suppose the coordinates are stored there. Alternatively, close Astap in the main screen. Or maybe, Han, let default startup be in the main screen, always? Thanks, Roar.

Yes startup position coordinates are stored in the cfg file. If you leave the program via file, exit then they are store. Or by any other action like stack or solve.
