hello. i use astap through nina and occasionally for some
reason solve fails. is there an astap log file i can look at to
see what the issue may have been?
Normally the ASTAP warnings are reported via Nina.
The scale of your image is correct
An other reason could a too high downsampling/binning resulting in dimensions are less then 1280 x 960 pixels. Binning should not be more then 2.
Furthermore the mount need some time to settle. Set this settle time not too short. Maybe at 10 seconds.
Checking your image, It is strange but it solves better (with more matching quads) if binning is forced at 1. That is rare. Normally 0=auto or 2 works better. The star look a little strange. Are you using a filter?
Anyhow try it with binning=1 and see if that inproves the solving. Ignore the warning. Tell me if this improves it.
This image is exposed 120 seconds. you could send me one with 5 or 10 seconds exposure for testing.
Cheers, Han

In the latest Nina version the failed image is stored. Send me one which fails and the Nina log.

Stefan B commented on issue #1133:
Mechanism to support users with image solving problems. Easy retrieval of failed image plus ASTAP command line
The latest Beta (2.0 H1 BETA0008) will move failed solves to a sub folder in %localappdata%\NINA\Failed To prevent unnecessary cluttering it will only create one file per appstart, target name and solver type (blind or not blind) and auto clean the folder for everything older than 7 days
