Hi all,
stars in the photometry tool are labelled with a 9-digit designation such as '000-BMF-963' which I could not identify even with the help of VIZIER. It is at least not a GAIA designation as I first expected.
When reporting check and comparison stars I have to use star designations of one of the common star catalogs such as HD, UCAC, Tycho or GAIA. I did not find any reference to the designation system in the ASTAP manual so can someone please point me to a description?

You can find it via the menus as shown in the attached screenshot. The label will refer to a GSC star or other known star by Simbad. But just use the 000-BMF-963 as designation. It is AAVSO specific. The standard star designation are difficult to process due to the variation in writing. So they use the AUID instead.

This is the AAVSO designation (numberplate) called AUID:
