Ive been stacking successfully with ASTAP for a couple of years now and just experienced my first problem
I can load lights ok then analyse and sort , however when I load either Darks or Flats or Flat Darks and proceed to Analyse a warning message pops up "X invalid floating point operation , press ok to ignore and risk data corruption or press abort" . I cant proceed with stacking
Just to advise I did install the latest version of ASTAP yesterday and a D50 star data base ( even though i dont plate solve , only stack )
Any help would be appreciated
Windows 10 Pro operating system
Omen 17" Laptop
All data files are fits from 2600MM camera ( LRGB )
Ive done nothing different from the last 2 years other than update to the latest version and install a D50 star data base
Alignment is Star alignment
Stack method is Sigma Clip ave
Darks from Library as normal
Flats , new flats per project
Flat Darks , new flat darks per project based on flats
All temperatures on all files -10C
All Gains on all files Gain 0
All exposures 30 sec
Oh i just remembered i did fiddle around with the solver to see if I could find out my sky background and followed a procedure where you load a light, flat and dark and press solve but it didnt work , would this be related to the issue ?
I wished i didnt touch anything or update anything as its been stacking beautifully for 2 years now
Thanks
Martin

Thanks for the feedback. I found the problem. Was caused by a new beta compiler which did not reset some variables to zero. Fixed in the last version 2024-11-09.
Cheers, Han

Hi Han,
Thanks for the timley reply
A few hours ago I uninstalled the last version and re installed an older version ( 12/1/24 ) which worked ok, I could analyse all files withour that floating point error.
I will install this most recent version
Thanks
Martin
