Hi,
I have been trying to solve an image of the trapezium in Orion with very small fov (10' x 14', see image). I tried a number of alignment options using V05, V50 and D80 data bases but could not solve the image. Any ideas how to solve such an image?
You could try with the setting triples and D80. Else manually with specifiying two star positions. But it is easier to uploaded to nova.astrometry, net and download the solution as new-image.fits. Here is the link:
Thanks for the link but I have not been very successful so far:
the image from your link throws an error and terminates ASTAP:
20:46:09 █ █ █ █ █ █ Warning: Image not calibrated with a flat field (keyword CALSTAT). Absolute photometric accuracy will be lower. Calibrate images first using "calibrate only" option in stack menu. █ █ █ █ █ █
Setting triples and D80 did not work
Solving manually did not work either:
9:06 23 stars, 14 quads selected in the image. 16 database stars, 10 database quads required for the 0.26° square search window. Step size 0.13°.
22:45:10 No solution found! :(
Any ideas?
