ASTAP installation on Win10 - Administrator required?

When opening ASTAP with my regular Win10 user credentials the application window does not appear. It stays minimized in the taskbar without any further information. Only when I launch ASTAP as Administrator it works as normal. This was not the case with previous versions of ASTAP (just installed 0.9.420) as far as I can remember. Will also test on other Win10 computers. Is this a known issue with a known solution? I prefer not to use Windows with Administrator credentials (unless installing new software).

    Hello Ludwig,

That is strange. I just created a local account in Win10 and it runs normal.

Maybe the astap.cfg file is corrupt. For the local account ASTAP will save the settings file astap.cfg at:

    C:\Users\guest2\AppData\Local\astap\astap.cfg

Where guest2 should be changed to you local name.

    or alternatively type in explorer

    %LocalAppData%\ASTAP

Then delete the configuration file astap.cfg and try again.

    Han

    Hi Han,

Thanks for the quick reply. Just tested your suggestion. That did indeed resolve the issue. All OK now.

    Regards,
    Ludwig
