I have noticed some peculiarities with the current versions 03.11 for Linux and MacOS silicon and Linux Deb.
With MacOS and Linux Deb Amd64, the current version takes an extremely long time and several runs before the solving is completed. It runs several times from 0°-180° and after a good 1-2 minutes the whole thing is done. I tested it with SetiAstroSuite from Franklin Marek.
The QT5 version 03.11 for Linux does not work at all and aborts with an error. Tested with Ubuntu 24.04.2 and Linux Mint in a VM.

I assume you have the Field of View setting on AUTO and it can not save the found field of view because the setting file is read only? Should never happen and on two operating systems is very strange.
Can you check permissions of the astap.cfg file? It is located in home/h/.config/astap wher h is your user name, It should be writable. Worst case just copy it and just delete it to start with a clean setting.
I have deleted the ,cfg but it remains... the call from SAS with the call from

runs for about two to three minutes with several passes and the QT5 variant aborts.
This is immediately visible as a result directly in Astab...

Weird. Will check today.

Han
Location home/h/.config/astap is for Linux.
The QT5 should work if Q5Pas1.dll is installed but that is not the case for every Linux flavour.
sudo apt install libqt5pas-dev
But better to stick to the standard version which uses GTK2. Hopefully I can release a ASTAP GTK3 (widget) soon.
I have deleted the ,cfg but it remains... the call from SAS with the call from

The auto FOV is forced by:
Running ASTAP with arguments: ['-f', '/tmp/tmp7gsrtx08.fits', '-r', '179', '-fov', '0', '-z', '0', '-wcs']
So argument -fov 0.
It should be -fov 0.70
Which program is SAS?
Han
Das ist SAS
https://www.setiastro.com/seti-astros-editng-suite
Tell me if you can fix it in SAS settings. Else we have to contact SAS developers. I will have a look to SAS in the next days.

Unfortunately, I have no way to correct this...
