I'm new to ASTAP and have just downloaded the h18 star database after installing the program. I am having problems getting it to run. The program tells me to download the h17 or 18 star database, which I have done. I cannot open this package on my Windows PC.

Hello John,

The h18 database download is also an installer. Did you execute the h18 installer? It will put many small files in location c:\program files\astap

Once I download and install ASTAP, do I then have to download the h18 star database package or is the h18 contained in the ASTAP file I downloaded?

No the H18 is a separate download. So when you start blank you have to download and install the astap program and the h18 star database. For updates you only have to download the astap program.
