in this version I only see pink circles if I try to mark the stars. No more descriptions of what it is, just the circle. And I can also mark a lot of them in one picture, not just 3. This is possibly related to the extension for self-defined ensembles, and I just can't use it properly ?

Thomas

Yes, you can mark up to 10 stars. The sequence doesn't matter. The selection is done later in the AASVO report. So in principle one for Var, one for Check and 7seven max as comparison star.
I have thought giving them a sequence number but at the moment they are just circles.
Does this work for you?

This will certainly confuse many users at first, unless there is a mode where it is the same as before ?
Yes, the new mode works, thanks for that, that was always a big wish. But you can't select the variable star? So the variable star is assumed to be the one(s) coming from the VSX? If you want to have a different one, you are back to the problem already discussed that you have to modify the ASTAP varstar file yourself ? Or could there be a way to select the variable star yourself? The (or at least my) idea behind 'measure all annotated' was actually to take the ones you annotated yourself.

Uploaded version 2025.0.2.08. There was a problem with annotation when images are drifting.
A variable like a nova not in the VSX you could select manually in mode "Manual selection" so the 10 violet markers you can set or in mode "measure all stars". Probably it helps if you first set a marker with the ra, dec position of the "nova" using the viewer popup menu.
If you find any problem please report. Is should work now but there is a lot of functionality in the program and sometimes I brake something by fixing an other problem.

sorry but I can't get it to work :-(
I use this simple image https://www.hamserver.de/astro/images/test.fit
and last ASTAP version 2025.2.08
Photometry tab, open image, click on it, solve, annotate variables.
Now first try: Measure all annotated (without chossing any star in image). Click right arrow in phot., and then on AAVSO report. Result: Error message "List index (43) out of bound. No report possible.
Sesond try: Choose "Manual star selection" , and then select (mouse click) GP_And and all other 5 green stars in image. Phot. tab, right arrow, AAVSO report:
I can not choose any comp. stars, I can only tick "Emsemble" , but without this choose there is nothing in Comp. stars field. And I only see one check star in selection box. And the message "No check star selected"
Is this all how it should work now ?
Can you please have a look .. thanks

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like some bugs where left after the big modification. I have fixed them in version 2025.02.10. The object name in your file "gpand"was not found and caused the run time error. Should work now.
The Windows version is uploaded. The Linux version will follow in 10 minutes.
Can you check if it works now for you?
Cheers, Han

I assume you know your test image filter will not be recognized. See attached.
Cheers, Han
Great, thank you very much Han. Now I can finally see the lists at check and comp stars. So IMHO everything seems to be ok now :-)
Cheers
Thomas
Thanks. Feedback is essential and helps. If you find something else please tell me.
Best, Han
Hello.
I try use "Find best aperture for trial and error" for photometry, but after all these changes I can not select check star. So, this function does not work. (((
Hi Aleh,
Thanks for the feedback. Yes that is no longer working. I will fix it, probably tonight.
Cheers, Han
"Find best aperture" button is fixed in the Windows development version 2025.02.15.
