Just loaded the most recent version, solved an image and then tried to have ASTAP calculate the SQM. It came back and said it couldn't for a color image, the was handled gracefully in prior editions?
Thanks for your contribution to Astronomy!

For raw DSLR images so OSC image the SQM can be measured. Debayered so colour images have as far I can remember always be refused by ASTAP. The reason is that the background is totally unreliable and it ill give big errors. Which ASTAP version are you referring to?
Cheers, Han

I may be responsible for a little mis-direction. I loaded an xisf file as I had used subframe selector in PixInsight, when i load a nef file, SQM works. A little interesting as the xisf files are not processed in any way, and so should be as reliable as a DSLR file.
Thanks for chasing this down.
Dave

Yes XISF raw image should work. Any file which is stacked or debayered or both, the background levels are adjusted and will most likely give false results.
Please upgrade to ASTAP version 2025.03.07. The previous version has a bug in sigma clip stacking of OSc images.
Cheers, Han
