Astap is installed at c:\program files\astap and works well as a stand-alone. Calling it from SharpCap[ results in "Can't find file C:\users\name\app data\local\temp\long string of characters.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Could not find file 'C:\Users\Ned Smith\AppData\Local\Temp\e2c3ea4b-b01c-420f-8faf-afcb029f33bf\frame.log
Maybe it tries to read the log from ASTAP (You can set the path and file name in the command line)
In principle the log is not essential. It should ignore any read error of the log.
Best approach would be that you post a request for help at the SharpCap forum. Here I can't do much about it. I'm still interest what the reason is and will look in the ShapCap forum the next days.
Sorry but at the moment I can do anyhting else.

SharpCap is creating a temporary directory with a png file and send the path to ASTAP. After use it is deleted again. Something like:
C:\Users\h\AppData\Local\Temp\28a05a4b-fa0d-4822-bc2e-92a3dfb1ea63
where the user name is h
Somehow the path is not readable by ASTAP. Can you attach the Sharpcap log of a solve test?

The log doesn't say any about solving. I can see only an warning for Atik camera. Did you request a solve?
Han
Yes. From the mount control module. The header line changed a few
times quickly and then "I can't find..."

Hello Ned,
Unfortunally, I can't find the message "I can't find" in your log. Can you check and if required retry again?
Han
I think the actual words are "Could not find (string)"
Hope this helps
Hello Ned,
Now it becomes a little clearer.
