    Hello everyone,

I want to solve my already stacked .fits file with the D20 database. But ASTAP can not find the downloaded database on my computer. The "star database used" is set to "auto" and I can't choose any other options. Is it necessary to save the database at a specific location on my computer?

I'm looking forward to your responses and thanks in advance.

    Hi Jacob,

The database in packed in an executable installer. You have to execute the database installler. Then the files are placed at the correct place:

    For Windows in

    c:\program files\astap

    for Linux in

    /opt/astap

      Hello Han,

the files for the database are now in the correct place. They have been installed as .1467 files. Is this how it should be. Because chat GPT says that ASTAP only sees .290 files.
Further I still can't set the "star database used" to a database.

The .1476 files are the new format. They should be in the same directory as the astap.exe. Please check the application path in the ASTAP. For this go to Help, About. See screenshot. Check if the path is C: or D:. Some users install ASTAP twice and the database in one and run the other application.

Remove/uninstall any second installation. You could move the .1476 files yourself. Just put them in the same directory as astap.exe
