Yes good idea. Once the keyword BAYERPAT is in the header it should be processed as OSC. The current setting can be used to force it if BAYERPAT is missing in the header. I will modify accordingly.

This is implemented in version 2022-10-22. The idea is simple but took some time. I also improved the menu a little. So stacking of raw imags of a DSLR or monochome image should work without specifying what type of file it is.

That one trips up a lot of new users. I wonder if ASTAP could auto check that box when it detexts OSC files?
