The way works, any file with a .cgi extension in your web space is treated as a cgi and executed.  So, I got the ast binary distribution, untarred it, ln -s ast ast.cgi, and when I try to access it I get an error 500 and this in the apache log:

Premature end of script headers: /home/ecloud/www/stock/afetch.cgi

If I try to install from source it complains about not finding curl.h.  I'm not crazy about installing a whole bunch of dependencies on that service to be able to compile.  But I'm curious why it failed to send the headers.  If I just run ./ast at the command line it says "Killed".
