Win32_Dual_NIC

f your environment is one where your SMTP servers are internal and you need a dual network cards for two separate networks, then this may help!

In my network, my WAN SMTP is port forwarded to 192.168.200.4, which is ASSP’s primary IP address, or NIC #1.

My LAN IP scheme is 172.16.X.X so the second NIC on the ASSP proxy server is set to 172.16.X.6.

The primary IP address setting has full DNS and gateway settings. The secondary IP address only has the IP and subnet. No gateway or DNS settings. (DNS setting are optional but not needed).

If using dual NICs, the order of services is important. You must set these by going to

Start > Settings > Network Connections > Advanced > Advanced Settings.

Make certain that the primary NIC, the one attached to the WAN (Internet) is at the top of the Connections panel. johnjces1
