Anti-Spam SMTP Proxy (ASSP) is a free and open-source software program that provides spam filtering and virus scanning for emails transmitted through Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) servers.

ASSP acts as a transparent SMTP proxy server, intercepting incoming and outgoing email messages and applying a variety of filtering techniques to detect and block spam, viruses, and other unwanted messages. It uses a combination of techniques such as DNS-based Blackhole Lists (DNSBLs), Sender Policy Framework (SPF), and Greylisting to identify and block spam messages.

ASSP can be used with any SMTP mail server and can be installed on a separate machine or integrated with the mail server itself. It also provides features such as Bayesian filtering, real-time blacklist checking, email encryption, and support for multiple domains.
