Request to trim reply's to considerate length.:-) Hey Jonathan, I fully understand your issue, but here is a interest conflict between 'normal' list users that mostly like to have the thread at hand (in the mail) and archive searchers/digest readers that like to have the shortest possible version. I'm sorry I don't know how to make a pig fly... For now I'd like to stay at my behaviour as I'd like to get the mails the way I send them (that's why I do it ;-) ) and I just can ask for your understanding. If you have any idea how to strip those unnecessary parts form the digested mails pls. tell me and I'll see to implement it into my mail server that could (Johns permission presupposed) host the mail list and do the job (as soon as we know /how/ to do it). Have a nice time, Rainer -----Original Message----- From: ass...@li... [mailto:ass...@li...]On Behalf Of Jonathan Copeland Sent: Wednesday, May 28, 2003 11:45 PM To: ass...@li... Subject: [Assp-user] Request to trim reply's to considerate length. John, Rainer,& All, I appreciate the many contributions to the project. But I have a simple request. I receive the list in a digest format and even when browsing online I find it very hard when there are so many copies of replies in the same email. Take a look some time at one of the Dino/Rainer/John exchanges. I have counted up to eight replies to one message. I know this is a rant but for searchability of the email archives Please, Please consider before you hit send. Please Trim. Sincerely, Jonathan Copeland |
