Well, I obviously had one misunderstanding about the intent of its use - and I like to consider myself a seasoned user. To recap: the test does not just apply to bombRe, it applies to all of ASSP processing - correct? Should this feature exist under the test-mode options then, if it is not specific to testing the bombRe only? There in lies part of my misunderstand to the intent of its use. I thought that A. It only applied to the bomb/script RE's, and that B. It only showed if you would get a positive match, if you put the same regex into the bomb/script RE. I never would have thought that its match would negate any other matches or processing features of ASSP. This seems very dangerous to me. I would think that an unsuspecting user could make some mistakes here. I did - but I caught it quick because I was beta testibng the functionality intentionally. I would think that other users have mistakenly allowed spam in that would have been caught by other means if it wasnt for a match to a "test" regex. -- ME2 (wireless) -----Original Message----- From: "Fritz Borgstedt" <fb...@iw...> Date: Wednesday, Jul 12, 2006 8:47 am Subject: Re: [Assp-user] question regarding testRe Questions and Answers for users of ASSP Anti-Spam SMTP Proxy <ass...@li...> schreibt: I thought that meant only in terms of testing the bombRe - as in, it wouldn't be blocked as a bombRe, only tested for a a match. >I did not think that *all* tests were negated. The TestReg Expression is for testing if the expression match, nothing less, nothing more.
