Hi I am trying to load an fbx file from assimp that was compiled from master as of today. Isn't this supposed to support fbx? The readme says it does. Why is a nullptr being returned from importer.ReadFile(someFBXfileString) ?
This fbx file was exported by blender 2.69, it's just a simple textured cube and the default camera and light.
I compiled the master branch from github.
I noticed that a c++ exception was thrown, DeadlyImportError at memroy location 0x005DEB08.
I found the problem, it says old fbx-dom unsupported. Weird since this is the latest version of blender, I guess the exporter is out of date which sucks for everyone who can't afford max/maya.
I have further tracked this down to blender using 2007 fbx sdk. The earliest supported by assimp is 2011. Could you guys fix this? Or get some one to update the fbx exporter for blender?
I updated to the brand new blender 2.7 and the issue persists.
could you give us a small sample to take a look onto? This could be useful. Or just give us a short explanation how to reproduce the issue with the latest blender version. We are all really spare on time so we need all the help we can get from you :-).
